GraphQL extension for products and new sandbox interface

New Sandbox for the doo GraphQL Interface

With today’s release of the product check-in functionality for the doo admission management system, we are introducing an updated Explorer interface for our GraphQL API at http://gql.doo.net.

The previous Playground interface is being replaced because it does not support the new oneOf queries introduced with this feature and also has known tooltip rendering issues.

The new Sandbox is designed for exploring and testing the GraphQL API. Users can develop and test GraphQL data queries as well as custom webhook payloads. In addition, the complete schema documentation is available in a slightly revised presentation. There are no changes to the actual API endpoint at graphql.doo.net.

What changes in the schema?

  • The Product object is being extended and will now be available as a dedicated query in addition to the existing ticket query.
  • Similar to the existing logic for tickets and ticket categories, a distinction is now made between Product and Product Category: Product refers to a specific booked product with its own hash for check-in purposes. Product Category refers to the product definition itself, including attributes such as name, price, and capacity, in other words, the information entered during the third step of event creation.
  • We are also introducing new mutations for check-in and undo check-in operations for both tickets and products. For tickets, a V2 version of these mutations is being introduced. We strongly recommend using this version for all future implementations.

Compatibility and Recommendations

No immediate action is required for existing implementations. They will continue to work because all changes are backward compatible. Some fields will be marked as deprecated. These fields will continue to be supported for the time being, but they will no longer receive updates. For new implementations, you should avoid using deprecated fields and instead use the alternative fields specified in the corresponding descriptions.

If you are already using products in your GraphQL queries, we recommend reviewing these queries gradually and updating them over time.
