Overview: email features at doo
doo offers a wide range of features for sending emails to your attendees automatically or on a case-by-case basis. Below you will find an overview of these features and links to detailed descriptions and instructions.
1. Email types
1.1. Booking emails
As part of the online event registration process, doo automatically sends transactional emails to bookers. These include, for example, booking confirmations, event reminders, and notifications of approvals, changes, or cancellations.
You don’t need to do anything or configure anything for these emails to be sent. doo provides the standard texts for booking emails. However, you can customize the subject and body of the emails and enable or disable content modules. You can find the relevant settings under “Email contents” in the event settings. Learn more about this feature in the article “Edit email contents” Customizations are only available to Pro and Enterprise customers.
Please note that the event reminder sending frequency cannot be changed. Reminders are always sent at 10:00 AM four days before an event. Furthermore, reminders can be set to be sent for all events or none at all—this change can only be made through doo.
1.2. Email messages
Email messages are emails that you send to a group of contacts at a specific time. These typically include invitations to events, information about an event, follow-up emails to attendees, or feedback surveys. You can track all recipient responses to your emails via the “Email activities” menu item.
Detailed information and instructions can be found in the “Email Messages” section. To use email messages, you need a license for our email manager.
1.3. Auto emails
Auto emails are messages that are automatically sent in response to a specific event. These can be transactional emails, similar to booking emails, sent as part of a booking, but auto emails can also be used in other processes. Auto emails can be personalized with event, contact, booker, and attendee data and sent to contacts, bookers, or attendees. Auto emails reach their full potential when combined with the doo automation tool, as they can be integrated into workflows. This allows you to implement specific workflows such as:
- Automatic sending of a certificate after a feedback form has been completed
- Attendee-specific emails that are not covered by our booking emails
- Notifications to specific contacts for new bookings
In the email activities log, you can view the responses of individual contacts to your auto emails.
Detailed information can be found in the “Auto emails” section. To use auto emails, you need a license for our auto emails feature and, if applicable, for the doo automation module.
2. Email inbox
With the doo email mailbox, you can set up a mailbox for your event team within doo where everyone can see and individually reply to incoming emails. You can get a new email address with the domain @inbox.doo.net or connect your own email account via IMAP. Further information can be found in this article.
